Getting Started

Welcome to the Order Dashboard. This is where you manage all incoming cake and cookie orders from the website.

Viewing Orders

• Order Table: Shows all orders with ID, type, customer, pickup date, total, and status
• Click any row to view full order details including specifications and reference images
• Stats cards at the top show quick counts for total orders, cakes, cookies, paid, pending, and quotes

Order Statuses

• Pending Payment: Order submitted, awaiting payment
• Paid: Payment received via Stripe
• Quote Required: Complex order (Level 4-5 cookies) needs custom pricing
• In Progress: Order is being prepared
• Fulfilled: Order complete and picked up

Updating Orders

1. Click on an order row to open details
2. Review all customer info and order specifications
3. Use the status dropdown at the bottom to update
4. Click "Update" to save the new status

Exporting Data

Click Export CSV to download all orders as a spreadsheet. Useful for:

• Record keeping and accounting
• Importing into Toast POS manually
• Backup and reporting

Trial Purpose

This is a pilot/trial version of the website focused exclusively on custom cookies and custom cakes. The goal is to validate online ordering before committing to a full POS migration.

What's Included

• Custom cookie order form with complexity-based pricing
• Custom cake builder with size, flavor, and design options
• Stripe payment processing
• Admin dashboard for order management

What's NOT Included (Yet)

• Cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and other menu items
• Full Toast POS integration (API is read-only)
• Inventory sync

Why No Toast Integration?

Toast's API is read-only for most use cases. Write access requires enterprise-level approval that small businesses rarely get. Their support pushes you toward Toast Online Ordering (which takes a cut of every order).

Workflow

1. Customer submits order on website
2. Stripe processes payment immediately
3. Order appears in this dashboard
4. Staff marks as in-progress, then fulfilled
5. CSV export available for records
6. Toast POS used only for in-store transactions

Cookie Pricing

• Bare (Level 1): $1/ea or $12/dozen
• Simple (Level 2): $2/ea or $24/dozen
• Standard (Level 3): $3/ea or $36/dozen
• Detailed/Elaborate (Level 4-5): Quote required
